IT’S full steam ahead for event organisers who are hosting a model railway exhibition next month.

The charity model railway exhibition is being held at the Venture Centre 2000, in Bromley Road, Lawford, on December 9.

On the day there will be a display of model railways, as well as both new and second-hand railway items for sale.

Steven Hughes, show organiser, said: “For one day only a display of model railway layouts will be coming together at the Venture Centre 2000 in Lawford to raise money for St Helena Hospice.

“With traders supplying new and pre-loved model railway items from trees to full train sets it’s a great chance to have a look at some fantastic models and get some ideas for those Christmas gifts.

“Weather permitting we will have a ride on railway outside and 16 model railway layouts inside alongside half a dozen traders all giving up there time to help raise money for the hospice.

“Every penny from entry to the show is going to support the fantastic work done by St Helena Hospice throughout the year.”

For the show, the First Lawford Scout Group will be providing refreshments to visitors.

The event is taking place between 10am and 4pm in aid of St Helena Hospice across two halls in the Venture Centre.

There will be hands-on layouts, traders and stalls and a charity tombola. Entry is £4 for adults, £3 concessions, £2.50 for children and under-fives go free.
