FUNDRAISING events are set to be held at sports and leisure centres in Tendring to support BBC’s Children in Need.

The centres, run by Tendring Council, have organised range of different activities and hope to top last year’s total of more than £1,500.

Brightlingsea Sports Centre gets underway on Wednesday with its fitness classes from 6pm to 9pm. Then the following night there will be Diverse Dance Mix for parents and children from 5pm to 6pm.

Also on Wednesday Harwich Sports Centre is staging a fun double racketball tournament from 6.30pm to 9pm.

Clacton Leisure Centre has a tea dance on Wednesday from 2pm to 4.30pm, then on Friday is staging an Active 4 Life (Over 50’s) onesie workout from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Walton on the Naze Lifestyles has organised a family fun swim to take place between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday.

On the same evening Manningtree Sports Centre will have wall climbing for those eight and above from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, a fun high intensity interval training class from 6pm to 6.50pm and body sculp from 7pm to 8pm on Thursday.

Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles has a charity football match, cake baking competition and a mini triathlon on Friday.
