PLANS for a new chalet bungalow on paddock land in Ardleigh have been given the green light.

Government Inspector Grahame Gould granted planning permission for the proposal in Chapel Lane.

Tendring Council initially rejected the scheme earlier this year but that decision has been successfully appealed by Alex Northcott.

The site for the bungalow is in part of a field to the north of Lamberts, a Grade II listed cottage dating from the 18th century.

Mr Gould said another new home is being built about 200 metres away having been approved by the council – and he felt that had an important bearing on his decision.

He also said the listed building’s setting would still be preserved and not affected by the new home.
