DOGS looking for new homes are in need of old towels, blankets and throws for comfort.

Pooches waiting for homes at Hiskeys Kennels, in Little Bromley, are in need for people to donate throws, duvets, dog toys, bowls and newspapers.

The kennels, in Spratts Lane, is also appealing for old and new footballs for the rescue dogs to play with.

A Hiskeys kennels spokesman said: “We look after dogs from two rescue centres.

“While the dogs are here they need some comfort and we constantly get through blankets.

“We have 20 dogs at the moment which is the maximum we can take in at any one time.

“Any donations which turn up are gratefully appreciated and will be used.”

Last Hope Rescue, a voluntarily-run organisation, pays for some of the dogs to stay at Hiskeys Kennels until they have an offer of a foster or permanent home.

Donations for Hiskeys Kennels can be dropped off at the kennels.
