WORK to move an historic ship to Harwich Quay as a tourist attraction has stalled for the second time.
The last manned lightship, the LV18, was due to be in place at Harwich Quay at the beginning of the year.
But work was still needed on the ship, which featured in the hit film The Boat That Rocked in 2009, before it could take up the mooring.
The move was pushed back to March but Colin Crawford, chairman of the Pharos Trust, which owns the LV18, said the ship is still not ready.
“We have some bits of work to do in the Quay then we will move," he said.
Despite fierce objections by some traders and Tendring councillors, the LV18 was given the official go-ahead to moor at Harwich Quay last year.
A licence granting a temporary one-year mooring was signed and it was hoped the ship would be ready for visitors by the summer.
