CHARITIES and groups in Harwich have the chance to bid for small grants.

A total of £2,000 is up for grabs from Harwich Connexions charitable trust.

Divided into grants of up to £250, groups that are Harwich born and are for the benefit of youngsters are being encouraged to apply for the money.

Les Double, chairman of Connexions, said: “What we have decided to do is divide some money up into small grants for charities whch are Harwich born and for young people.

“This year it is youth but next year it could be something else.”
