TIME is ticking at the heart of Manningtree again now that a vandalised clock has been repaired.
Yobs damaged the town centre clock on the Natwest bank building in High Street, in August.
Rotarians, who maintain the clock, initially feared the cost of repairs meant it could be stopped for good.
But the damage was not as bad as first thought, although the clock did need parts from Japan in order for it to be repaired.
It was switched on again today.
Manningtree Stour Valley rotarian David Moss said he was pleased the clock was operational again, but did not wish to disclose how much it had cost to fix.
He said: “We hope the public appreciate it.”
The clock had stopped at 11.30pm when it is thought the crime was committed.
The road it is situated on is one of those included in the dispersal order in the town.
