IT’S time to prepare for the annual pancake race in Harwich.
Young and old alike will be limbering up for the pan-flipping challenge, which takes place at St Nicholas Church on Saturday February 13.
The races for adults and children start at noon and all proceeds go towards the St Nicholas Church lighting appeal fund.
Enid Godfrey, who organises the event, said: “The money will go to the lighting appeal, we are completely rewiring the lights so we can change a bulb.
“We have to have the fire brigade in the change a bulb, it is not satisfactory.
“The whole thing needs modernising.”
Pancakes and hot drinks will be served after the race in the Esplanade Hall.
Teams of four should register for the race at 11.30am on the day at a cost of £5 per team.
