A NEW game to help youngsters make safe choices has been invented by Tendring police.
School Liaison Officer, PCSO Paul Davids, came up with the new board game.
Known as The Decision Game, it aims to show children they can achieve their ambitions and stay safe if they stand up to peer pressure and steer clear of crime.
Pupils are faced with decisions like whether to take a shortcut across a railway track, give school a miss for the day or join in drinking games with friends.
PCSO Davids said: "Being a schools officer, you constantly hear pupils say my friend did this or that and he was alright.
“You get frustrated in trying to get the message across that he or she might have been okay this time but there will come a time when they won’t be.
“The game hopefully put that across in a fun way.”
