A FAMILY have been left shocked after finding their six-month-old kitten had been shot by an air weapon.
Ryan Richardson, of The Soils, Great Oakley, said he found his family’s pet whimpering and limping at their home on Thursday.
“We thought she had maybe jumped from something and landed funny, but the vet said she had been shot.
“The pellet was still in her leg and she has to have an operation to remove it, which is going to be very expensive.
“Her leg is fractured aswell because of it.”
The kitten is one of two Mr Richardson got for his five children, who range from one to 11 years old.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Harwich Police Station on 101 or via crimestoppers on 0800 555 1111.
