ROMAN coins and family heirlooms were valued as part of a fundraising antiques event.
Villagers from Great Oakley routed through their homes to find old and interesting items for the antiques roadshow.
Mark Winter and Michael Bowls from Reeman Dansie auctioneers in Colchester spent the morning at the village hall examining antiques for £3 each.
All the money raised from the event was then given to the village church.
Katherine Randall, from All Saints Church, said: “We made more than £300 for the church, which is needed for maintenance.”
More events to raise money for the upkeep of the church are being planned for later in the year.
