Have a beer while you enjoy a cricket match - what more could you want from summer?
Witham Hockey Club and Witham Cricket Club will jointly be hosting their annual beer festival from Thursday to Saturday at their shared ground in Maldon Road, adjacent to the Maldon Road Recreational Park.
The event, now in its fourth year, will again be offering a range of real ales and ciders and a selection of wines and there will also be a barbacue.
As in previous years there will be daily cricket matches and live music each evening to entertain festivalgoers.
This year’s entertainment includes Jonny Be Good on Friday evening and the popular ‘Rockney Sing-along’ returning from last year on Saturday evening.
As not-for-profit organisations the Hockey and Cricket Clubs use the money raised from the event to improve their facilities and to continue to provide sporting opportunities for their junior members.
Further details of this year’s festival can be found on the website: withambeerfestival.webs.com.
