A community playground has suddenly become off limits to children over the age of six.
A sign outside Plantation Hall Play Area, Heybridge, has appeared in the past couple of weeks, stating the playground is only for the use of children between the ages of two and six.
The majority of children in the area are now banned.
Lisa Hawes, 42, says her husband, nieces and sisters-in-law all played there when they were young.
She said: “Children have always been allowed on that field.
“It was given to the children of Heybridge by King George V and all of a sudden these signs have gone up.
“You cannot go in to the park if you are under two or over six.
“It has baby swings, but no babies because they are too young to be allowed in."
