Passengers at Witham station have been treated to a splash of colour after volunteers created a vibrant floral display.
Annie Northfield and her friend Mel Foster worked tirelessly on the tubs over several days to create a cheerful atmosphere for the thousands of daily commuters.
Chair of Witham in Bloom Mrs Northfield has been a station adopter at the station for more than ten years after she decorated its hanging baskets for Anglia in Bloom in 2002.
As station adopter, Mrs Northfield tends to the baskets on the platform and outside the station with the help of Mr Foster.
The pair are also responsible for the displays outside Witham magistrates’ court, borders in Cressing Road and at the back of the town hall as part of Witham in Bloom.
Mrs Northfield said: “I really enjoy the part I play in making the station look good and I hope other people enjoy it too."
