Dedicated teenagers have been given awards for their efforts.
Elizabeth Cole, 15, a pupil at Helena Romanes School in Dunmow, won a Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award for helping primary school gymnasts and assisting at her own school’s gym club.
She was given £200 for gym mats.
Felsted School pupil William Alexander, 15, helped set up the technical side of The Felsted Model United Nations, a conference for pupils from Essex and overseas.
He looked after the sound systems and projectors.
His £200 grant was spent on a Gopro digital camera for teaching in the graphics department.
Both pupils were also given medallions.
