Essex County Council has launched a drive to recruit lollipop people.
ECC is recruiting across the county to fill vacancies at established crossings.
The recruitment drive comes after the council listened to schools and parents during a consultation into the future of school crossing patrols earlier this year, and decided not to press ahead with proposals to stop providing school crossing patrols at zebra crossings.
Essex County Councillor Rodney Bass, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said: “School crossing patrol officers have a very special place in local communities and people who do the job find it very fulfilling."
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 7 October.
