An aspiring Paralympian is over the moon after beating 674 other entries to win £1,000 towards a racing wheelchair.
Tom Miller, of Langford, is celebrating after receiving the cash from the Mars Milk Play Fund after a victory in the People’s Choice Award this month.
The ten-year-old, who was born with cerebral palsy, has been wheelchair racing for a year and his coach has tipped him for future success at the Paralympics.
He received 1,449 votes in the competition after his story was publicised by the Standard.
His mum Nicola Miller said: “This donation from the Mars Milk Play Fund couldn’t have come at a better time.
“Tom is currently borrowing a racing wheelchair but it is far too big for him."
