A pub has been granted a late night music and alcohol license despite objections from local residents.

Under the name of Fitzralph Ltd, landlords Joseph and Lynne Burlo applied in September for The King’s Head in The Street, Pebmarsh, to be able to sell alcohol until 1am Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays, and until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

They also applied to be able to play live and recorded music until midnight on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays, until 12.30am in Wednesdays and Thursdays and until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Provision was also requested for later openings and music to be played on bank holidays Sundays and Mondays, and on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Six objections and one comment of support were received in response to the application, with objectors expressing concerns about noise disturbance.

The license was granted on November 12 by Braintree Council’s planning sub committee, but with conditions.
