The First World War was a time of upheaval abroad as well as at home, as a display at Earls Colne Heritage Museum reveals.
The display, which is currently open to the public, depicts life in the village from 1914 up until the celebrations at the war’s end.
The history of the turbulent period is revealed through more than 50 photos, anecdotes and newspaper clippings, giving viewers a real insight into the past.
The Earls Colne 1914 Centenary exhibition runs until April alongside the museum’s long standing display, which charts the history of the village from Roman Times until the Second World War.
The museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm until 4pm until Easter, after which it will also open at the same times on Wednesday.
