Police are trying to trace a driver following a four-car crash.

A black Jaguar X type, a black Alfa Romeo Gulietta, a silver Mercedes S320 and a silver Ford Escort were involved in a collision in Sudbury Road, Halstead, at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The driver of the Escort left the scene and the police helicopter tried to locate him.

Nobody suffered serious injuries.

The road was closed until around midnight whilst the vehicles were recovered.

Enquiries are continuing.
