A supermarket giant has its sights set on Braintree for a new multi-million pound store.
Aldi delivered leaflets to homes in Great Notley last week to say it hopes to open its first Braintree store in 2016.
The shop could be built opposite the Branocs Tree Hungry Horse at the entrance of the Skyline 120 business park, Great Notley.
The German chain has not submitted plans to Braintree Council but state the 1,115sq m store would create up to 50 new jobs and provide 89 customer parking spaces.
Countryside, who owns the business park, is currently advertising the proposed 1.37acre plot for warehouses, offices, leisure, healthcare, car showrooms and trade-counters - but not retail.
