SATNAVS and blue tooth gadgets were among items stolen from cars in a series of thefts in Maldon.

Over three days last week six cars were broken into.

Police have linked the thefts and believe the cars may have been insecure.

Between 5pm last Monday and 6.27am last Tuesday, a gadget worth more than £100 was stolen from a silver Toyota Yaris.

The car was parked in Beaumont Way, Maldon when the £150 blue tooth ear piece was taken.

A Garmin satnav, worth £100, and £8 in small change were stolen from a Kia Soul, parked in Mayflower Drive, Maldon between 4pm last Sunday and 9.05am last Tuesday.

Between 10.15pm last Monday and 5.40am last Tuesday a blue Hyundai Santa Fe was broken into.

A small amount of cash and a CD were stolen from the car in Mariners Way, Maldon.

Between 3pm last Sunday and 8.10am last Monday thieves entered a silver Audi, in Long Common, Maldon, and stole £6 of cash.

Overnight between last Monday and 7.20am on Tuesday morning a grey BMW was broken into and searched in Mariners Way, Maldon but nothing was taken.

Thieves also entered a white Mercedes in the same road during the same period, stealing £7 in cash and a electric Philishave razor worth £12.

Police are appealing to vehicle owners to lock their cars and keep valuables out of sight.
