A poignant service was held to remember the fallen as Tower of London poppies were planted in their memory.
Ten pupils from Cold Norton and Purleigh primary schools planted 10 ceramic poppies next to the memorial stone on the parade grounds at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome yesterday.
A short service was conducted by the Rev Mary Cottee.
Aerodrome operations director Russell Savory said: “Our sincere thanks to the Purleigh Hand Bell Ringers for helping to buy the poppies as a lasting tribute to our fallen.”
