Villagers are hoping significant discoveries dating back to the Middle Ages will be found in a farmer’s field.
The Stour Valley Community Archeology group is hosting an excavation in fields surrounding Goldingham Hall, in The Street, Bulmer, which starts today and will last until Sunday.
The site is understood to have been where a medieval manor once stood and there is evidence of workers carrying out brewing and leatherwork activities.
In previous excavations, the group have discovered pig’s bones dating back hundreds of years, as well as burnt pottery and bread ovens.
