THERE are less than three weeks left to brush up on your general knowledge in time for the Gazette’s charity quiz.

The editorial team are organising the fundraiser at Firstsite on Friday, September 11, at 7.30pm in aid of St Helena Hospice.

We will be testing your knowledge on a number of subjects and there will be a raffle and auction to raise extra cash.

Groups who have donated prizes donated include Colchester Council, Dedham Vale Vineyard, Rollerworld and Quasar, Wivenhoe House Hotel, Milsom, Jungle Adventure, the Food Company, Essex and Suffolk Gliding Club, Geller Butchers, Abellio Greater Anglia and Gazette wine columnist Neils Dubro.

James Wills, editor, said: “Preparations are well under way for our quiz, and we’re sure it will be a really good night.

“We’re hoping as many of our readers will come along as possible so we can raise a lot of money for this fantastic local cause.”

The Gazette is organising the quiz as part of the St Helena Hospice Birkett Long Challenge.

Businesses are given £50 and have to make as much money for the cause as possible. Teams of up to six are invited to take part, and entry costs £5 per person.
