A NEW anti-litter campaign has got people talking after feminist campaigners branded it sexist.

Love Essex, a coalition of Essex councils and fast food chains, including Maldon District Council, McDonald’s, KFC and Dominos, has placed Bin Your Litter posters on bus stops across the county.

But the campaign, which launched last Monday and will run till the end of September, has come under fire for signs depicting a man as “smart” and a woman as “pretty”.

The posters include people holding fast food containers, along with the tagline “Bin Your Litter”.

This year’s theme, adapted from last year’s “Littering… it’s not pretty, smart, classy or cool” campaign, has been heavily criticised on social media across the country.
