A brave family has organised a month of events to raise awareness and money to help beat childhood cancer.

Three-year-old Lilly-Mae Brewster was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in January.

Lilly’s mum, Carrie, said: “Lilly wants to use this horrible situation to create a positive and raise as much awareness as we all can.

“We hope to raise in excess of £250.

“Clic Sargent is an amazing charity who helped us tremendously at the beginning of Lilly's journey and we really want to give something back, raising awareness of childhood cancer along the way.”

A month of events and activities is taking place to raise money for the charity.

These include sponsored bike rides and hair shaves.

There is also a big event on September 27, which will include stalls, bouncy castle, massages, face painting, nail painting and refreshments.

It will take place behind The Nail Bar in Head Street from 11.30am.

Lilly will be taking part in a photoshoot while dressed entirely in gold.

For everyone that donates to the online page and messages their name and address to the Facebook page, she will be sending them a personalised drawing - complete with glitter and accessories.
