AN office worker stunned a pair of teenagers who smashed a car by chasing them down in just her underwear.
Ciera Rogers-Starckey was staying at her dad’s flat in Bocking End on Sunday, September 20, when a neighbour knocked on the door to say the window of a Ford Fiesta had been shattered.
Without hesitation, the 21-year-old ran out into the street, saw two boys and gave chase, despite the fact it was 10.20pm and she was ready for bed.
She said: “In the car park there were two young lads.
“I started going towards them and they made a run for it.
“I caught up with them, managed to grab one of them and I started bringing him back. The other one just sort of followed.
“I wasn’t wearing a lot. They both seemed a bit confused about what was going on. He was quite a big lad, about 6ft, and I’m only 4ft 10ins tall.
“He sort of stared at me in shock.”
After police arrested the teens, one of them ran off again and Ceira’s partner Adam Starckey chased him down to Sainsbury’s car park.
A 16-year-old from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and escaping from lawful custody while a 17-year-old, also from Braintree, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
Both were released on police bail until November 16.
