Braintree Council is asking residents to sign up to a mass energy switch to save money on their bills before winter.
So far 550 residents have signed up to the scheme, which gives savings of up to £230 a year.
By involving the whole community the scheme sees energy suppliers compete against each other to offer tariffs not usually available.
Those who register will receive a personalised offer with details on how much they could save.
Residents can register their interest by signing up before October 12. Visit braintree.gov.uk/essexenergyswitch
