A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after he plunged from a flat window.
Emergency services were called to the three-storey building in Tufnell Way, Colchester, around 10.15am today.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "The call came in at 10.17am to reports of a man who had fallen from the third storey.
"We sent a Rapid Response Vehicle, an ambulance crew, a senior locality manager also attended and the air ambulance.
"They treated a male in his mid-fifties for a variety of injuries.
"He sustained quite a severe chest injury, and possibly a pelvis fracture as well, and a serious injury to his left arm.
"He was fully conscious when we arrived and he was stabilised and flown to the Royal London Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
"It is not currently known from our reports how it happened."
Essex Police said the man is in a life threatening condition.
