LOOKING for something to do next week? We've put together a list of things happening in Maldon and Burnham over the next seven days.

1. MALDON Film Club’s next showing will be In the House, a 2012 French film directed and written by François Ozon, on Wednesday.

A 16-year-old boy insinuates himself into the house of a fellow student from his literature class and writes about it in essays for his French teacher.

Faced with this gifted and unusual pupil, the teacher rediscovers his enthusiasm for his work, but the boy's intrusion unleashes a series of uncontrollable events.

The film club meets at Maldon Town Hall, with doors opening at 7.15pm.

Wine and soft drinks are available, at a charge, from 7.30pm and all films begin at 8pm.

For just £20, you can enjoy the remaining seven films of the season’s films. Alternatively, guests pay £3 per film.

For further information, visit maldonfilmclub.info, visit the Maldon Tourist Office or call 01621 869340 (for membership enquiries) or 01621 850250 (for general enquiries)

It will take place next Sunday from 11.30am until 2pm.

The cost is £39.50 for adults and £26.50 for children.

The cruise departs from Hythe Quay in Maldon. For more information, call 01621 857567 or visit topsailcharters.co.uk

Children are invited to design a poster for the 2016 Maldon in Bloom theme “The River Blackwater”.

There are three categories: nursery, primary and secondary school and the prize for each category is a £15 voucher from the High Street shop of your choice.

A number of posters will be displayed in High Street during the Maldon in Bloom judging period from June 13 to 17.

Entrance is free and posters must be received by April 1.

For more information, speak to Jennifer Eva at Maldon Town Council, in Market Hill.
