A HOST of Valentine’s Day events are happening this weekend – here are some of the best on offer in Maldon and Burnham.

1. A VALENTINE Dance is being held on Saturday in Langford and Ulting Village Hall, Maldon Road, Langford. It will start at 8pm and is organised by the After Eight Social Club.

The club holds monthly dances at various dances in the Maldon area, with DJs playing a range of music. There is no bar so bring your own drinks and food.

Entrance is £6 for members, or £8 for non-members.

2. A CONCERT is taking place on Sunday in St Leonard’s Church, Station Road, Southminster.

David Felstead will be performing on the organ and piano, Annalisa Biagini Laurence and Anna Southey singing soprano, and Alan Wells singing baritone.

They will perform a variety of musical styles.

Proceeds will go towards supporting the church organ restoration. It will start at 4pm and entrance is £6.

 

3. A VINTAGE afternoon tea will take place at the Museum of Power, in Langford, on Sunday.

The traditional tea will be served in the splendour of the steam pump tea room, with piano and accordion music accompanying.

People can treat their special someone between 2pm and 4pm on February 14 and are advised to pre-book.

Food will include finger sandwiches, savoury pastries, scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes.

4. A VALENTINE afternoon tea and dance takes place at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome on Sunday.

People can enjoy tea in the Mess Hall and dance to music from a time gone by.

There will be an opportunity to pick up some top tips from dance experts at the event which runs from 2pm to 5pm at the aerodrome in Hackmans Lane.
