MEMBERS of a Witham Brownie troop visited a local children's therapy centre.

33 members of the Witham 8th group, took a trip to the Brainwave Children's Therapy Centre in Newland Street as part of their community badge.

Jo Gibson, of the 8th Witham Brownies, said “In order for the girls to gain a better understanding of charity projects within their own community, we visited Brainwave so that the girls could get a real insight into the work that they do.

"The Brownies were very inspired following our visit and will now be trying to fill Smartie tubes with coins to raise money for Brainwave."

Geraldine Gould, Community Manager for Brainwave, said: "It was a pleasure to show the 8th Witham Brownies around our Children’s Therapy Centre based in Newland Street and to explain about the work we do with the children that we see who have disabilities and additional needs.

"The girls were keen to ask questions and showed interest in seeing some of the equipment we use.

"They were extremely well behaved and polite and it was great to see their enthusiasm in learning about Brainwave."

Since Brainwave do not receive any funding from the government they are always looking for people to help out with fundraising or sponsorship.
