AN assistant nurse who was filmed singing an Adele classic has agreed to be in the line-up of acts for this weekend's Party in the Park.

Emma Young, 21, who works at St Helena Hospice in Colchester, was filmed playing the piano and singing Make You Feel My Love at the inpatient unit.

After the footage was posted on the hospice’s Facebook page on Friday, it was liked and shared hundreds of times leading to people viewing her performance all over the world.

Party in the Park organiser Don Quinn said he persuaded Emma to perform on stage on Saturday after being inundated with requests.

"We have offered her a place and she has said she would love to.

"We have given her a half an hour slot on Saturday to sing her heart out to the crowds."

St Helena Hospice will also be selling merchandise at its own stall at the event.

Saturday's line up also includes some of the very best tribute acts in the country.

Mr Quinn added: "She will be up there with the greats, Queen, Abba and David Bowie, I am really delighted.

"We had 20 to 30 emails following your article in the paper and they all said, please , please approach Emma."

Emma's video of her performing has now been watched close to 115,000 times on the hospice's Facebook page.

She said she could not believe the attention she had been given.

Emma, from Colchester, has been singing since the tender age of five and was always encouraged by her mother, although she did not believe people when she was told she was talented.

She loves her job at the hospice and hopes to do full nursing training and try to carry on performing to patients.

The song, originally written by Bob Dylan, was made famous by Adele.
