A CHARITY craft fair to raise money for two vital causes takes place in Hatfield Peverel next weekend.

The chosen charities are Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and the National Deaf Children's Society.

For organiser Kim Jones, the National Deaf Children’s Society is a cause close to her heart.

She said: “My son was born with bilateral profound hearing loss so he had next to no hearing at all, and at 15 months old had an operation to have cochlear implants.

“It is a long process but we are getting lots of help and support.

“The NDCS really support the children and their families and also do trips and events for people so they can get together and support each other too.”

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension supports people with the debilitating condition of its name, a rare disorder which effects only one in 100,000 people.

The second organiser, Katy Turner, unfortunately suffers from the condition which has completely changed her life.

Both Miss Jones and Mrs Turner have been avid fundraisers for the charities, and have held fun days and quizzes in the past.

There will be 16 different craft stalls with refreshments also available.

The raffle has a huge 25 prizes, ranging from vouchers for kids play areas to bottles of wine.

The craft fair takes place at Hatfield Peverel Village Hall on September 11 from 12noon until 4pm.

Entry costs £1 for adults and is free for children.
