A SPECIALIST travel insurer helped raised more than £5,000 for a footballing legend's charity.

Romford-based AllClear, sponsored the charity golf day at Braintree Golf course in aid of the Willow Foundation, a charity set up by ex Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper Bob Wilson, OBE, and his wife Meg.

The charity organise special days for teenagers and younger adults who are seriously ill.

The couple started the charity after their daughter Anna tragically passed away following a battle with cancer, with their experience showing them how important it was for people with a serious illness to have a life outside of their treatment.

Bob said: “Since launching in 1999, we have organised over 13,000 special days, and 1,300 so far this year. This has taken us from a two-person team to a 40-person operation, and £2 million a year is needed to fund this.

“AllClear has sponsored the annual Braintree Golf Day for ten years, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.”

Chris Wacey, CEO of the AllClear Group, said: “In ten years we have raised over £120,000, thanks to the generosity of our clients, suppliers and associates.

"We are proud to be working with such an outstanding charity and hope to continue doing so for many years to come.”
