CHILDREN were inspired by a professional footballer who came to visit.
Cody McDonald, a Gillingham Forward, visited children taking part in a football fun day at New Rickstones Academy.
He joined in with shooting and penalty drills.
Daniel Mather, who runs the classes, said: "The children absolutely loved seeing him and meeting him.
"It means so much that Cody gave up his time to see the children at one of my camps, he was really down to earth and credit to him for coming.
"Over two days we had more than 20 children attending, they were fantastic.
"Cody has been a credit to the community too."
