A FUNDRAISER boosted the coffers of a charity close to his heart by growing his hair for the year...and then shaving it all off again.
Tony Taylor, who works in the yard at building merchants Kent Blaxill on Layer Road, Colchester, got sponorship from friends, family and work colleagues to raise £920 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Kent Blaxill spokesman Monica Hartley said: "He has worked with us in our yard for 11 years and is a valued member of staff.
"We are proud of his amazing achievement.
"Tony decided to grow his hair for a whole year and was sponsored both for the growing of it, and at the end, for shaving it off.
"He chose to support Macmillan Cancer Support as they cared for a close family member who sadly died two years ago."
