A GIN festival which was due to be held this weekend has been cancelled... but it is unclear as to why.
Ginlicious was ready to host a drinks fest at the Town Hall in Colchester High Street, but an announcement on their Facebook page said they had to pull the plug.
We called the company who said a new date has been arranged for June 9, and it will be held at Firstsite instead.
They said on Facebook: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the Ginlicious Festival venue and date has now been changed due to an issue with the current venue.
“You have the option to have your tickets changed to the new date or a full refund.”
They have not specified why the event was cancelled.
The council said it was not their decision to cancel the event.
A spokesman added: “The Colchester Events Company is not associated with the ‘Ginlicious’ event or the promoters, and all enquiries concerning ticketing or refunds must be made through the promoter.”
