WITNESSES are still being sought after a girl was accosted in South Woodham Ferrers.

Police officers investigating an incident in South Woodham Ferrers where a girl reported she had been accosted are appealing for anyone who saw a girl running or walking from the area to come forward.

The girl reported she was walking between Taffrail Gardens and Broughton Road between around 8.15am to 8.45am on Thursday, May 17 when a man approached her, accosted her, and grabbed her.

The girl managed to get free and run to safety.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Trudi Arnold said: “A thorough investigation is being carried out into this incident and our enquiries are progressing well.

“I need to speak to anyone who saw a girl running or walking from the area appearing to be distressed between 8.11am and 8.45am.

“In particular I need to speak to anyone who saw a girl in the areas of Hallowell Down, Middleton Rad, Benbow Drive, Ferrers Road, and the Asda in South Woodham Ferrers.

“It doesn’t matter how insignificant you believe the information you have is, I need you to come forward because it could be important to our investigation.”

Anyone who saw anything, who was driving in the area and has dash cam footage, or have any other information about the incident should call 101 quoting incident 226 of May 17.
