A REPORT, with a straight-to-the-point title, has been drawn up in opposition to a major housing development.
Myland Community Council have adopted the 12-page paper, called “A Stark Reality”, as its official comments on the Colchester Council decision to build on land near Chesterwell Wood.
Developers Mersea Homes and Countryside Properties intend to build 1,800 homes, a secondary and primary school, a community centre and a shopping precinct on 100 hectares of land in Nayland Road.
Myland councillors have produced the detailed report criticising Colchester Council for earmarking the land for development through its core strategy.
