TWO pupils have been praised for helping a woman who fell down and split her head open at Stanford-le-Hope station.
Jade Farrow, 15, and Tyler Swann, 12, were on their way home from school when the woman collapsed and hurt her head.
The two students at Hassenbrook Academy rushed to help the woman by calling the ambulance and staying with her.
Jade’s dad, Peter Farrow, who lives in South Ockendon, said: “I’m so proud of Jade and Tyler.
“Jade is a brilliant girl. She gave the injured woman moral support and did not leave her until the ambulance came.”
The two students were recognised for their actions on Tuesday, November 4, with good citizen certificates at school.
Colin Flynn, assistant headteacher, said: “The two pupils who helped out with the accident at Stanford station are typical of the majority in our community, both in the academy and locally, who never flinch at helping others.
“We are proud of their actions.
Both Jade and Tyler had their efforts formally recognised in the academy when they received good citizen certificates.
“We hope the lady who was injured has recovered. We would be happy to reintroduce her to these two young people.”
The woman was taken to Basildon Hospital for treatment.
