FILM crews are expected to descend on Canvey this month.
Canvey man and actor James Lee Taylor is returning to his roots to film his new movie Wild Spaces.
Filming is expected to take place at the Point and Old Jetty.
The modern day love story featuring 29-year-old James as a commodore is set on the coast.
Director Kara Smith, who has shown films at Cannes Film Festival, is leading the project.
James, a former pupil at Castle View School, has spent the last six years in America looking for his big break and is set to star in American sitcom Being Mary Jane this autumn.
He said: βItβs really exciting and lovely to think I will be filming at the end of my road.β
James started modelling at 16 and has travelled the world for fashion campaigns and is no stranger to the world of showbusiness.
He has starred in adverts for Three Olives vodka and Nivea and auditioned for box-office hit Fifty Shades of Grey as well as appearing in the new film the Boy With A Thorn In His Side, due out in October.
Camera equipment and film crews are becoming a familiar site on Canvey with many shows choosing to film on the island.
BBC series Silent Witness filmed scenes at the Lobster Smack last year and fashion house Prada chose to shoot a major campaign with actor James McAvoy at the sea wall.
