A POST OFFICE is set to move and have a revamp as part of a national regeneration programme.

The Post Office at 134 Rectory Road, Pitsea could be closing down to move to the Costcutter in Rectory Road, Pitsea.

Services would be provided from Monday to Sunday from 7am to 10pm. This is an extra 58 hours and 30 minutes a week of Post Office service including all-day Sunday and Saturday afternoon.

The branch would open earlier and close later every day, this would make it more convenient for customers.

The proposed move would be part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.

Will Russell, Regional Manager said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Pitsea and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”

The Post Office is inviting customers to give their comments on the revamping programme in a six-week public consultation.

The Post Office is welcoming feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal.

The consultation will close on March 22 March.
