A YOUNGSTER has raised six times more for charity than she originally expected after having nine inches of her hair cut off.

Olivia Hinds, ten, of Norwich Avenue, Southend, decided to have the chop to raise money for the Little Princesses Trust.

The hair obsessed youngster had the chop on Wednesday, April 28, and has raised over £600, much more than her £100 target, as well as sending her hair to the charity.

Paula Hinds, 37, Olivia’s mother said: “People are being so generous and we're hoping staff from Olivia's school will also support and sponsor her too. Olivia was very excited to do this and is so pleased with her haircut.”

The Princess Trust turns real hair into wigs for poorly children suffering from hair loss.

A family friend’s daughter, Megan, 17, is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has received a wig from the Trust.

Clare Hoskins, 46, who cut Olivia’s hair said it was a special job cutting Megan’s hair and then Olivia’s too, adding: “Seeing the wig Megan received made it feel like a full cycle.”
