CROWDS flocked to Southend in their hundreds to sing along to a musical based on the hit songs of Abba.
Many visitors to The Forum, in Elmer Square, dressed for the occasion as the film version of Mamma Mia was shown on the outdoor big screen.
The movie tells the story about a bride-to-be looking for her biological father through the songs of the Swedish pop group.
Viewers brought their own chairs and blankets to the free open air screening of the feel-good musical.
Guests took to Facebook to praise the afternoon. Maria Johnson said: “Fantastic atmosphere and good community spirit. So glad the rain held off too.”
Lisa Root said: “It was truly a fantastic atmosphere, young and old singing and dancing along, I can’t wait for the next one.”
More events will be taking place as part of the annual Southend Film Festival, which starts on Thursday.
