AN EXHIBIITION commemorating the Thurrock service men and women who gave their lives during World War will be on show at the Thameside Theatre, Grays from November 4 to 18 November.

The Thurrock Council Museum Volunteers have been working hard to collect and display information about local servicemen involved in the war during the time.

The exhibition coincides with national and international days marking the end of the First World War and to remember those who have lost their lives in all wars and conflicts.

More than 800 local men lost their lives during World War 1 and the exhibition will help commemorate these men.

Sue MacPherson, councillor responsible for neighbourhoods said: “In our busy lives, we should all find a moment to remember those who have sacrificed everything for the life we know today.

“This two week, free exhibition has been put together by volunteers and I really urge you all to take your families and pop along and have a read through the many amazing stories which will be on display.”

The exhibition is free to everyone and more information can be found at thurrock.gov.uk/events
