A SHOPPING centre is holding scarily good events for Halloween.

intu Lakeside, Grays will be putting on a range of events across half term including movie making, face painting and cloak making.

Hundreds of trick-or-treaters are expected to visit the shopping centre this Halloween as part of a series of free events being held to keep children entertained.

intu’s mission to ‘make it fangastic’ for families this half term will begin with a week of Halloween activities for children and end with a spook-tacular trick or treat event where children are invited to dress up and collect treats from any of the centre’s participating shops.

Children will be shown how to make something fangtastic, like a carved pumpkin or scary mask, at different workshops taking place every day of the week which ends with intu’s big trick or treat on Saturday October 29 and Halloween parades on Sunday October 30.

Ben Leeson, marketing manager at intu Lakeside said: “Halloween shouldn’t be frightening for families but we know that it can be difficult to keep children entertained during half term.

"Many parents will also be looking to stay out of the cold and wet when it comes to trick or treating with their children.

“That’s why we’re looking forward to putting smiles on the faces of hundreds of mini witches and warlocks this half term with our fun-packed week of activities and intu Lakeside’s big trick or treat event.”

Catriona Macdonald, store manager at Hamleys said: “The big trick or treat event at intu Lakeside is a fantastic idea for the community and is one that we are delighted to be taking part in allowing children to enjoy the Halloween themed fun safely.”
