A BUNGALOW roof has been destroyed after a fire broke out at a home in Wickford.
Firefighters from Wickford, Basildon, Rayleigh Weir and South Woodham Ferrers were called to the scene at a detached bungalow in Harold Gardens shortly after 6pm.
The occupants were able to escape the property and call the fire service, and there were no reported injuries.
Upon arrival they reported the roof and loft of the property were completely on fire.
The fire service confirmed it extinguished the blaze by 7.15pm and have recorded it as accidental and caused by electrics.
No other houses were caught up in the fire
