A SCHOOL’S generous fundraising will help pay for vital new medical equipment for a hospital children’s ward.
Beauchamps High School, in Wickford, raised £3,600 through non-school uniform days to raise money for the Mayor of Basildon’s charities, Wagtail Children’s Ward, at Basildon Hospital, and Lukes, the counselling service for children at St Luke’s Hospice.
Headteacher Bob Hodges said: “It makes me proud that Beauchamps High School is able to do a little to help children in their time of need, especially as it comes up to Christmas.
Cllr Harrison said: “I am hoping to be in a position to provide Wagtail Ward with a high-spec piece of respiratory equipment in the very near future.”
